Every November, the city of Ondo—rich in culture, history, and ancestral pride—transforms into a vibrant hub of tradition as it plays host to the world-renowned Ekimogun Day celebration. More than just a cultural festival, Ekimogun Day is a movement. It is a living, breathing affirmation of the Ondo people’s identity, resilience, and unity. At the heart of this annual tradition is the Ondo Ekimogun Dynamic Club (OEDC), a legacy institution that not only birthed this celebration but has continued to champion its purpose for over four decades.

A Legacy of Unity: The Role of OEDC
Founded in 1980, the Ondo Ekimogun Dynamic Club has been the nucleus of socio-cultural advancement for Ondo sons and daughters. Its mission is clearly etched in its motto:
“To work and socialise among ourselves on non-political basis, in unity and harmony as a body dedicated to the advancement of Members and Ondo solidarity.”
With members spread across Nigeria and beyond, the Club is a family built on Ondo paternal descent, bonded by a shared commitment to cultural preservation, education, and community development. The Club has sustained its relevance through the years by consistently welcoming younger generations, in accordance with its constitution, ensuring that the ideals of the Ondo people are passed down and rejuvenated. The Club’s influence has not only endured but blossomed, as seen in its consistent participation and organizational leadership in Ekimogun Day. For 45 continuous years, OEDC has stood as a beacon of cultural pride and community service
