At Ondo Ekimogun Dynamic Club (OEDC), events are not just gatherings β they are expressions of heritage, unity, and pride. We are at the heart of preserving and celebrating the timeless traditions of the Ondo Kingdom, through annual festivals, cultural rites, and social impact initiatives.
Ekimogun Day is the crown jewel of Ondoβs cultural calendar, founded and championed by OEDC to unify sons and daughters of Ondo across the world. Held annually in December, this festival features:
A majestic parade of indigenes in full regalia
Traditional dance, music, and folklore
Royal appearances by the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom and his chiefs
Cultural competitions and talent showcases
Civic awards, community development initiatives, and youth engagement
Ekimogun Day is more than a festival β it is a global call to all Ondo people to reconnect with their roots, give back to their community, and pass on the legacy of our ancestors.
Celebrated in honor of Ogun, the god of iron and metalwork, this is the most widely revered traditional festival in Ondo Kingdom. The event is marked by:
Rituals at sacred shrines (notably at Odojomu street)
Offerings including palm wine, roasted yam, and traditional items
Vibrant street celebrations where youth paint their faces and playfully demand “wetting” tokens
Parades of traditional chiefs and warriors
Spiritual rites led by the Osemawe and high-ranking chiefs
This festival holds deep ancestral significance and showcases the fierceness and strength of the Ondo spirit.
Held five days before the Ogun Festival, Agheregbe is a heroic celebration in honor of the legendary warrior Jomu-Nla. It includes:
Colorful traditional dances
Historic reenactments and masquerade displays
Participation by Egbedi and Ayadi chiefs
Public gatherings in key cultural zones like Odojomu, Enu-owa, and Legiri
